Wassup beautiful people! I just finished performing at the Rotunda, and I must say, it was the most frustrating 2-song set of my life. The sound guy...lawd the sound guy...It was tough to keep it together on that hot stage and remember to smile - remember to ignore the levels going up and down from my mic, to the music, and then back to the mic. Let's add reverb and echo to turn her up as she sings. WHAT THE FUDGE?!?!?!?! I asked the DJ to leave me alone during the second song, but the sound guy didn't get that memo. You see, I haven't performed in a minute. It's been months, actually. Real life is a roller coaster, and with all my new projects coming my way, this, I felt, would put me back on the map (so to speak) and remind folks that I'm still here - working, writing, and recording. So to have only 2 songs to perform off the CD instrumentals and this is my "RETURN"...to have things mess up right before my ears is disappointing to say the least. I felt that I sucked. - BUT - As I was getting ready to head towards my car, a stranger stopped me all excited like and said "I HAVE YOUR CD!!!" I mean, she was giddy! I introduced myself and thanked her, and that helped my anxiety to die down a little more. As a perfectionist, I didn't give a perfect performance, but the good news is that people liked it. Somehow, they enjoyed it...wow...really????? We are our own worst critics, and I must continue to remember that. The other thing for me to remember is that no matter what's going on around me, I'm to GIVE IT MY ALL. Not become visibly upset. Can't hear me? I'll sing my heart out anyway. Lesson learned. Last year, my daughter, Jalyn and I participated in the 2008 Walk MS to support a dear friend of mine, Andrew Morris. Drew has Muscular Sclerosis (MS), a disease that affects the central nervous system. Right now, there is no cure, and Drew, along with many volunteers and the National MS Society, work hard to fight this disease.
So this year, I'm walking again for my friend, and I'm asking for your support. Are you willing to donate $25 to the cause? Even if you can only do $5, $10, or $20, every little bit helps. My goal is to raise $250 in total, and I believe that with your help, I can reach my goal...hopefully more. Your donation can be made public or anonymous, and it's done on a secured website. Please go to my page and click on the link below to donate: http://main.nationalmssociety.org/site/TR/Walk/PAEWalkEvents?px=4665520&pg=personal&fr_id=10987 If you don't want to donate online, send me an email at

Tonight Check Out St. Alborne and Grind City @ Doc Watsons Pub.
One of the best kept secrets in Philadelphia is that there is a resurgence of black rockers on the scene. Two bands of those bands will be rocking it out tonight, St. Patty’s Day at Doc Watsons. While each has its own unique sound, both rock hard and will definitely have you out of your seats! St. Alborne, the night’s opener, features front man, Damon Small, whose Bajan roots serves as part of the band’s influence. But don’t get it twisted! St. Alborne is metal funk that goes harder than the best of ‘em, and Damon’s soulful voice over heavy bass, guitar, and drums will certainly have you amplified. Some of you may be caught off guard with the screams and gut wrenching sounds, but it’s Damon’s subtle way of reminding us of our roots in rock music. Capping off the night will be Grindcity, a Philadelphia main-stay. With JO leading the band along with sexy guitarist, Gab Guma, Grindcity combines hip hop with rock, soul, and funk. The high energy and talent of this group has propelled them from Philadelphia to performing in shows all around the region. You’ll definitely be in for a treat, and one thing is for sure, with Grindcity, there is something for everybody. Now you know everyone’s Irish on St. Patty’s Day, right? So make sure to come out, grab ye a Guiness, and rock ye out at Doc Watson’s Pub, 216 S 11th St. I hope to see you there!
