New Music from Nex Millen and Cee Know the Doodlebug - I Am Somebody
|
Nex Millen and Cee Knowledge brings us back to the authentic sound of hip hop when good lyricism over hot beats mattered most. The track begins with an old Sesame Street episode where Rev. Jesse Jackson recites his poem (under the same name) in call and response form to a group of kids. With drums as the backdrop, the piece soon settles into a jazzy groove, and Nex begin the 1st verse letting us know that it’s his turn to shine. His smooth, laid back rhyme confidently tells us that we’ll be hearing more from this talented, yet underexposed rapper. After the catchy hook, the 2nd verse begins with Cee Know speaking on his skills and experience in the music business stating “industry cats told me real rap’s irrelevant…” He goes on to let the naysayers know that although he’s still “peace like that”, he’s not one to contend with. If this song doesn’t put you in a good mood and motivate you to do something positive with your life, then you have a dark, dark soul. I’m just kidding...but make sure you take a listen to “I Am Somebody” at www.nexmillenmusic.com, and definitely add it to your play list. |
